No, it’s not Baghdad. Baghdad was founded in the 8th century AD, and while today it encompasses Babylon (itself much younger than surrounding cities), it did not originally. The oldest continually inhabited city is most likely Damascus, in Syria, which has been inhabited since the Neolithic Age. There is no specific ’street,’ that is an impossible question to answer.

There are a few cities in Egypt that have most likely been continuously inhabited since the Neolithic period as well, but we don’t know for certain as of yet.

‘historybuff: Varanasi dates back to 3000 BC, not ‘3000 years ago.’ Sumer no longer existed as late as 3000 years ago. Varanasi is old, but nowhere near as old as Damascus, Jericho, Catal Huyuk, Naqada, or Hierakonpolis.

In the winter, Arizona is one hour ahead of the West Coast, the rest of the year, it is the same. This is why Arizona is always “Mountain Standard Time”. They do not observe “Mountain Daylight Time”.

“Mountain Standard Time” is equivalent to “Pacific Daylight Time”.

They are one and the same, and can be used interchangeabe since they are always -7 GMT.

PST and MST are one hour apart, but in April, there is no time difference between California and Ariona.

The whole thing is really non-nonsensical (IMHO), and I imagine the country will do away with with Daylight Saving Time eventually.

The time designations are frequently denoted incorrectly on various websites.

Sunrise at the Grand Cayon will occur at approximately 6:15am local grand canyon time (same as Phoenix time). Civil Twilight (when you can actually start seeing the light of the sun crest over the horizon) occurs at about 5:40am.

I would get there at about 5:30am to get the full effect.

If you are confused, set your watch to current Los Angeles,Las Vegas time or Phoenix time. They are all one and the same in April.

Either one of those will provide you with the proper local South Rim Grand Canyon time.

Krebs cycle should be covered in the last year of highschool! Oh well, another one then…a very short one:

True or False?
In humans, fertilization is the fusion of sperm with egg. If false, give the correct definition of fertilization.
(Be careful on this one&#823
Answer:
Uhh..yeah you got it wrong. Answer is false. The proper definition: fertilization is the fusion of sperm NUCLEUS with egg NUCLEUS. Sperm can enter the egg, but fertlization doesn’t yet occur — the egg has to then complete meiosis II (while the sperm is lodged inside the egg cytoplasm) before it’s nucleus can fuse with the sperm nucleus. By definition, the cell does not become a zygote until the two nuclei fuse.
In any case, you’ll say that this isn’t highschool biology, cheap…

I beleive yours was the question I already answered so here is the same answer.

Bronchial closing in pneumonia is usually not caused by smooth muscle constriction which xopenex and albuterol are used to treat, but rather it is caused by bronchial wall inflamation and mucus plugging (neither of which xopenex is good for). antobiotics for the infection and alveolar fluid as well as some deep breathing and coughing excersizes. Also a steroid for the Bronchial inflamation is appropriate. Pneumonia is an alveolar (lung air sacs) infectious disease.
Xopenex does not get down to the alveoli. Besides, Xopenex relaxes bronchiolar muscles, and there are no bronchiolar muscles in the alveoli anyway. However, if the pneumonia causes bronchospasm, the treatment might work. Usually one treatment will be able to tell if you need to keep taking them. If you don’t get relief after one then tell you Doctor.

Xopenex is used to treat reversible obstructive airways diseases, which pneumonia is not. Unless you have an underlying bronchospastic condition it probably won’t help.

Ok, calm down. You know how people are on yahoo questions….they like to judge you w/o even knowing your or the situation. I wonder if they’d speak to you like that face to face, I doubt it.

Onto what is important here, your cats. I commend you for rescuing them. It is unfortunate that you don’t have the extra time or money to take them to the vet b/c that would be the best thing to do for them. On that note, let’s see what could be going on here…….. when a cat chews off their fur, it could be b/c they are itchy (which is why someone mentioned fleas) but they could also be stressed out. I have 4 cats and the 1st one I got tears her fur out when she becomes stressed. I use RICHARDs ORANICS PET CALM and I bought it at Petco (www.petco.com) Since you’ve mentioned the fact that it is scabby and dry, she could have an allergy…or just dry skin that she is itching. Try using a pet friendly shampoo for itchy/dry skin. Don’t use petroleum jelly, that will clog the pores. Skin has to “breath”.

Ok, the smelley ear. Sounds like an infection or some kind of hematoma. Try an antibiotic ointment after you rinse it w/ peroxide. Go to Petco, Petsmart….etc. See what you can find to medicate that ear!!!

Ok? Hope that helps.

hey. i am 13 years old. so i can really relate to you. i do not run track and field competively, but i love to run. i have the fastest mile time in my school. it is a 5:20 mile. when i was a year younger i ran a 5:40 mile. by the end of this year i would like to run at least a 5:00. i cannot wait till i can run track in high school. my advice for running the mile is to NOT think about it. to just keep on running. also to get ahead in the beggining and stay there. do NOT push it at all untill the last 200 yards. with about 150 yards to go SPRINT! i know that i am not a pro or anything, and i cannot give the best advice, but i did my best. and it works for me. so yeah. uh good luck and all that. and if u got anything to say to me you can get me here - benbeck1@msn.com

so there u go. peace.

you definately should read her book, “Go For the Goal”. Its really good and you will learn soo much about her. Her website is http://www.miafoundation.org/ because she started a foundation for her brother who died of bone marrow disease Mia Hamm is absolutely amazing. I’m sure you could send a fan letter to her through the foundation, or through ponytail posse, which is a fan club for women’s soccer fans. http://www.ponytailposse.com/

Mia Hamm basically had a normal childhood. She was born on St. Patrick’s day. Her older brother Garrett was a huge role model to her. He would invite her to play in pickup soccer games andshe would be his “secret weapon” because she was so good. She started playing for the national team at age 15 after being discovered by Anson Dorrance, who became like her mentor. She has more goals than any other soccer player in international matches, and was still going strong when she retired after the Olympics. She has led the team to 2 olympic golds, a world cup title, olympic silver, and world cup bronze. She’s pretty quiet but VERY competitive, and leads by example and is really respected by all her teammates. She has great work-ethic also. ok i could continue forever, but you’ll learn all this from the book. i realllly reccommend it, especially if you enjoy soccer. it is really inspiring.

A blonde was sat in her car driving down the M1. Suddenly, she was horrified about this truck that was driving down the inside lane. So, she flashed the cars lights and honked the horn, and finally signalled for him to pull over.
She got out of her car, ran over and said, “Hi, i’m Mandy, and your losing your load”. The lorry driver looked at her, then his truck, sighed and got back in.
Further down the motorway, she saw him again. So, she flashed the lights and honked the horn until he pulled in. She ran over and said, ” Hi, i’m Mandy and you’re losing your load”. He jsut slammed the door shut, pretty angry now.
Later on again, she saw him, so flashed the lights and honked the horn, ran over when he pulled in and said:

All vinegars no matter what form are a fermented product, common white vinegar while non-alcholic is a chemically based fermented product, it is a distillation of ingredients including the mother, and all rice vinegars are made in the same manor.

And having a number of Muslim workers and friends it is not allowed under Halal regulations for use in food products.

I worked with a very religous born again christian fellow, who swore of the evils of drink, I asked him do you gargle with mouthwash as he always had fresh breath, he said yes, I told him he was using an alcholic product, was not happy about my comment, there are now several alcohol free types.

Vinegar is not something you would drink but it has been fermented to make it pure. I ama former chef and have worked insomevarious countrys and kitchens so I have come to know about both Halal and Kosher issues for my companys.
