Since you have no wages, it is probably a benefit to file a joint return.
By filing a joint return and taking the standard deduction, your taxable income is reduced by $5,350 by filing a joint return versus your spouse filing a MFS return. There is no additional personal exemption for MFJ, since your personal exemption can still be taken on a MFS return because you have no income.
If you itemize your deductions, your taxable income is going to be the same whether you file jointly or separately.
In both cases, the tax tables are different for taxpayers who are married filing a joint return versus married filing a separate return. MFJ pays less tax on the same income than MFS.
So overall you are paying a lower tax on less income by filing a joint return.
I am assuming you have no children. If you have children, you still benefit from a joint return, but the benefit is slightly less because your spouse may be able to file as Head of Household.

How do I buy a house from a friend without using a realtor?

Not difficult. Draw up a contract, outlining the terms; it is good to crib from a standard realty sales contract form which is available at stationery stores. (There are a lot of what-ifs, and they all need to be dealt with.) If you are financing the deal, you will need an escrow or closing agent to handle the paperwork, but if there is no outside lender involved, you can do that yourself. At closing, the seller will deliver a deed, with wording similar to this:
“Grant Deed
For a good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, John Doe conveys all the real estate commonly known as [insert street address], and more particularly described as [copy legal description from previous deed], to Richard Roe and Mary Roe, husband and wife [or such other tenancy arrangement as you want].”
This must be notarized. Buyer takes this to the county recorder of deeds to be recorded. Buyer also hands to seller the agreed consideration.
Although you don’t need a realtor to do any of this, having an escrow company or other closing agent involved is a good idea. They will get the paperwork done, and arrange for title insurance — which is a very good idea indeed. And, as I mentioned earlier, if there is an outside lender, they will require the use of such an agent in order to insure that the mortgage is properly done and recorded.

This is NOT a good idea. Turtles are genetically programmed to grow rapidly, but it takes so many resources to grow all the shell, etc., that they ‘rapid growth’ takes about 2-4 years to hit 4″.
I know that forced growth is common for some snakes to speed up breeding- but it sacrifices the health of the snake to do it. The question then is why do it for turtles?
Red-ears do not breed well in normal keeper tanks, and there is not much profit in these low-cost animals.
Added info:
If your parents will not buy you food, perhaps you should consider giving up the turtle for something easier to care for like this.
Things you can find to feed it will include most worms, most soft-skinned bugs (avoid wood lice or other things with hard external shells), snails, bits of cooked chicken, bits of cooked organ meats, etc.

When you notice floaters in your vision you are seeing a shadow of debri suspended inside a gel called the vitreous in the posterior portion of the eye. Most times this debri is simply remnants of a fetal artery no longer present after birth or what is called vitreous strands. Both of these are normal and do not indicate a disease. Some people have more noticeable debri than others, though. Additionally, later in life, it is not unusual to see patients develop a posterior vitreal detachment (that’s where the vitreous gel in the back of the eye detaches from the retina — seldom is this a problem) that can cause an increase in floaters.
Sometimes floaters (debri) can come from other sources, though, that can indicate a problem. Retinal holes, tears, or detachments can create debri in the vitreous. Paients with these types of floaters tend to notice a CHANGE in the amount or density of their floaters.
So any patient noticing floaters should have an initial examination to assure that the debri is of no importance and any CHANGE in floaters should be noted and another examination performed.
Now to your question. Since the floater is debri suspended inside the posterior chamber of the eye, there is no drop or medication that can remove this debri from the eye. I have heard on the radio (it was being promoted by Paul Harvey) about a vitamin supplement of some type that claimed to clear eye floaters. Don’t waste your money.
SEVERE sight decreasing floaters can be resolved by a surgical procedure called a vitrectomy (removal of the vitreous) but this procedure is not adviseable unless vision is extremely poor. Hope this helped.

IR1/CR-1 petitions are immigrant visa petitions, K-1/K-3-4 petitions are nonimmigrant petitions and fall under different procefures.
So, you will have to file 2 new petitions for her daughters. Since they are considered your stepdaughters, those will also be immediate relative petitions. You could also file K-4 petitions for them based on your wife’s IR-1. That might speed things up for them, but probably not all that much. You could ask the embassy in Phnom Penh to accept your petitions for direct filing there under humanitarian considerations, but since you are not resident in Cambodia, they do not have to accept them. However, they certainly will not accept filings by mail. They’re not allowed to. So, ask first and see if it’s possible before hopping on a plane and spending a lot of time and money.

Do colors look the same to everyone? Does orange look the same to me as everyone else?
No… and maybe! After working as a ‘colorist,’ artist and designer…. I would say not. “We see colors via “rods” and “cones” in our eyes. No… and maybe! After working as a ‘colorist,’ artist and designer…. I would say not. “We see colors via “rods” and “cones” in our eyes. The rods, color-vision, come in three types receptive to red, green and blue. Every person has RGB cones that are triggered by boundaries of slightly different wavelengths, so that everyone perceives the precise colors slightly differently, giving each one a slightly different band width, and intensity. An extreme and solid example is colour blindness: this informs us clearly that some people can have radically different perception of colors, except that in most cases the differences are much smaller. Our life experiences and upbringing affects the clarity with which we see colours. As no two people have the same experiences, all people do view colours slightly differently for both genetic and historical reasons.” I know this is true as my son calls his green shirt his gray shirt… and he is not color-blin

I think people become conditioned to believe certain things about cultures and the people from those cultures by historical evidence and the phenomenon of “group-think”. For example, Native Americans and Irish are known for their inability to control their drinking… they often get dubbed as a “drunk people”. Sure, they have a genetic predisposition to sensitivity to alcohol, but let’s be for real here… any Native American or Irishman has a choice whether or not to drink in the first place. It also depends on one’s cultural upbringing that determines their perception of another culture. For example, my Swedish friend and I. I asked her what she thought of the Russians (I was wanting to discuss the cold war and find out her experience of it). I had been raised to believe Russians are a proud people, stubborn, and prone to violence - a very strong culture. My Swedish friend said one word. She said, “Slaves.” She had been raised to believe Russians were weak-minded emotional cripples and easily manipulated.
I don’t believe in cultural stereotypes. I think it’s short-sighted and simple-minded to believe in cultural stereotypes… especially in this day and age when the world is a much smaller place, with fewer barriers between us, and with so many of our cultures “blending” so rapidly. This is the reason why today’s best quality is adaptability. If people stick to stereotypes that they were taught locally (and within the last 50 years), they don’t stand much of a chance moving forward, globally.
