No, it’s not Baghdad. Baghdad was founded in the 8th century AD, and while today it encompasses Babylon (itself much younger than surrounding cities), it did not originally. The oldest continually inhabited city is most likely Damascus, in Syria, which has been inhabited since the Neolithic Age. There is no specific ’street,’ that is an impossible question to answer.
There are a few cities in Egypt that have most likely been continuously inhabited since the Neolithic period as well, but we don’t know for certain as of yet.
‘historybuff: Varanasi dates back to 3000 BC, not ‘3000 years ago.’ Sumer no longer existed as late as 3000 years ago. Varanasi is old, but nowhere near as old as Damascus, Jericho, Catal Huyuk, Naqada, or Hierakonpolis.
